Christy Kyong received her Bachelor of Arts in Music from University of California at Berkeley in where she studied with Mariko Smiley. She received her Masters in Violin Performance from Northwestern University, Bienen School of Music studying in Blair Milton's studio.
Christy Kyong has been an active performer and has soloed with groups such as the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, Berkeley University Symphony, and with various groups in Pennsylvania. She has also been an active orchestra player, holding assistant and concertmaster positions in several states. Miss Kyong also loves to perform in solo violin recitals every year and accompanies on piano and the pipe organ on a regular basis.
After finishing her graduate degree, Miss Kyong returned back to her hometown in the SF Bay Area, and is devoting her time to teaching. She has been part of the Crowden CCMC violin and piano faculty since the spring of 2010. Miss Kyong has also been a faculty at Bentley School String Academy since 2009. She happily teaches violin lessons, piano lessons and group piano classes at Crowden.
