Greacian Goeke
BA, Cornell University

Greacian Goeke holds an M.F.A. in Performance from California College of Arts and Crafts, Oakland, and a B.A. in English from Cornell University where she trained in modern dance and choral singing. She completed her Level III Orff Schulwerk Certificate at Mills College, Oakland, in the program directed by Doug Goodkin. She has taken postgraduate training in the Schulwerk with nationally and internationally known instructors such as Judith Thomas-Solomon, Barbara Haselbach, and Verena Maschat. She also completed an introductory Dalcroze course at Carnegie Mellon University in summer 2006.
Greacian is a folk dancer and percussionist and loves to lead family folk dance events where all ages can play together. She also sings with the San Francisco Threshold Choir and practices and teaches T’ai Chi Ch’uan, in the Yang style, short form. She has held artist residencies throughout the Bay Area for the past 15 years in public schools, social service agencies and art organizations. She is on the board of the Northern California American Orff Schulwerk Association and serves as the newsletter editor. In addition to teaching for Crowden's outreach classes in the community, she teaches Orff classes in the early childhood music program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and for Conservatory in the Schools.
