Hande Erdem
BA, Istanbul University State Conservatory
MFA, Mills College
Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Hande Erdem began her music studies
at the age of nine at Istanbul Conservatory Middle School, which is similar to The
Crowden
School with its distinctive music program as well as academics. She
received her BA from Istanbul University State Conservatory. During her
undergraduate studies she performed with the Istanbul State
Symphony and the Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, and taught
college preparatory violin, piano and musicianship classes. After
moving to the Bay Area, Hande received her MFA from Mills College as the
recipient of a full scholarship. Hande is currently working as a
freelance violinist with the Monterey Symphony, Napa Valley Symphony,
Modesto Symphony, and the Stockton Symphony, among others. Since 2001
Hande has maintained a busy private teaching schedule in the East Bay.
