Kerry Borgen, violin

Kerry Borgen, violinist, graduated from California State University Long Beach, where she received a scholarship to perform with the honors string quartet and chamber ensemble. She has performed with many chamber and orchestral groups throughout the United States and abroad, with scholarships from the Congress of Strings, Interlochen Arts Academy, and the National Orchestral Academy in London. Locally Kerry has performed as a soloist with the Nova Vista Symphony and the Mission Chamber Orchestra. She has played with the San Jose Symphony, California Symphony, Santa Rosa Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, and Modesto Symphony, and as Concertmaster for Nova Vista Symphony, the Mission Chamber Orchestra, and SCO. She also loves performing in the pit for musicals. Her favorite role was as the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof.

Kerry has been teaching violin for more than 30 years. She began as a Suzuki student at age four. She now enjoys teaching in her private studio in Martinez.
