How the Silent Auction Works
The silent auction is held upstairs before dinner. The items are arranged by category on tables. To bid on an item, you write your bidder number and amount you're bidding on the bid sheet in front of that item. If you want to be sure to get that item, bid high! If someone else comes along and enters a higher bid after you, they become the high bidder. If you are outbid, you can enter a higher bid until the table closes.
The tables are closed two at a time, so you can watch a table closing and make sure your bid is the highest. When the auctioneer declares that table closed, no more bids are allowed, and the item goes to the last bidder with the highest bid.
