Brad Johnson

B.A., Cal State San Bernardino (English)
Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley (English)

Brad Johnson was born and raised in the sunny climes of southern California. When Brad went off to college, at Cal State San Bernardino, his father instructed him to study business; instead, he finished college with a B.A. in English, a head full of poems, and no regrets. He did master's work in composition and eventually migrated north, to pursue his English Ph.D. at UC Berkeley. His dissertation, titled “Birthed Effects: Shakespeare's Generation of Monsters,” was an examination of congenital deformities in Shakespearean literature.

Brad has a daughter majoring in Marine Biology at UC Santa Cruz, and a son who recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Animal Biology. He lives surrounded by a growing collection of other people’s pets.
