Dean Curtis
BM & MM, University of Texas at Austin
Dean Curtis, piano, holds a Master's degree in theory-composition with piano principal from The University of Texas at Austin. She has studied piano with Gregory Allen, Stanley Potter and Richard Smith. She has twenty-five years of teaching experience, having taught at Tulane University, Loyola University of New Orleans, Sam Houston State University, and The University of Texas at Austin, in addition to her private studio teaching. She received a Teaching Excellence Award from Tulane's University College. Her most recent full-time position was as Lead Teacher of Classical Instrumental Music at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (a nationally-known high school), where she directed the chamber music program and conducted keyboard harmony, sight-reading and ensemble work for pianists.
