John King
John King took his first Composition classes at The Crowden School ('92). Since then he has studied under Arkadi Serper, Olly Wilson, Richard Whalley, and Jorge Liderman. Alongside his compositional pursuits, which include a recently commissioned work for piano, he is also an active jazz performer. During his year long residency as the house pianist for the Galway Jazz Club in Ireland, he performed with many of Ireland 's foremost jazz musicians, including Michael Buckley, Nigel Mooney, and Hugh Buckley.
Having just returned to the United States and the cherished Crowden School community, he is eager to embrace it as it first embraced him: as an artistic oasis that celebrates creativity and the musically inquisitive pupil.
