Who We Are
Crowden is a nonprofit organization and home to The Crowden School for grades four through eight, the first elementary/middle school in the country to offer a comprehensive academic education designed with chamber music at the core.
What We Do
- The Crowden School for grades four through eight provides a distinguished education with chamber music at the heart.
- Crowden provides music lessons, classes, ensembles, and summer camps for students of all ages and levels of ability.
- Our John Adams Young Composers Program guides and mentors students in the formative stages of their creative growth. The program was founded in honor of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Adams, who has a long association with Crowden, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
- Crowden presents Bay Area audiences with chamber music concerts, educational lectures, and free family-friendly events like Community Music Day.
