Eric Barnhill



Eric was the co-founder and coordinator of the Music Skills program at the Music Conservatory of Westchester and faculty at Manhattan’s Kaufman Center. He taught musicianship in the New York City area for over ten years to a wide range of students including nursery and elementary schools, young artist prep programs, special needs groups, and Alzheimer’s patients. He designed and taught a seminar for graduate students at Mannes College of Music and taught guest workshops at Yale University and the Curtis Institute among others.

He has a certification in the Dalcroze Method from the Dalcroze School of New York, an MM in piano performance from the Juilliard School, and a PhD in experimental brain imaging from the University of Edinburgh. He is an author on over 20 scientific papers ranging from advances in MRI signal processing to measuring how conductors express musical intention through movement. He likes to perform piano improvisations wherever people let him.
