The Crowden School for fourth through eighth grade in Berkeley

Founded in 1983 by violinist Anne Crowden.

2018-19 Enrollment: 68 students in grades 4–8

NEW! Accepting third grade students beginning Fall 2020

Daily schedule:

  • 8:00am start time for all grades.
  • Third grade is dismissed at 2:05pm, all other grades dismissed at 3:30pm.
  • Aftercare is available at an additional cost until 6pm.

Curriculum: Orchestra, Chamber Music, English, Mathematics, History, Science, Physical Education, Art, Instrumental Technique, Musicianship and Composition, Chorus, Music History, French (starting in 6th grade).

Average class size: 13

Tuition for 2019-2020 academic year:

      • $25,000 for grades 4–5 (Lower School)
      • $27,325 for grades 68 (Upper School)
