Pianos

We are grateful for the generosity of individuals who wish to support Crowden through the donation of a piano.

Because student use requires instruments that meet specific performance standards, Crowden does not accept pianos directly into our inventory (except under special consideration).

How the process works

  • Pianos submitted for consideration are reviewed by Piedmont Piano Company
  • They determine whether the instrument is suitable for resale or, in rare cases, adding to Crowden’s collection
  • If eligible, Piedmont Piano will:
    • Schedule a viewing
    • Arrange piano movers
    • Manage the sale
    • Donate the proceeds to Crowden

What to submit

  • To be considered, please complete the Instrument Donation Form (above) and include:
    • Photos of the instrument
    • Make and model
    • Approximate age (if known)
    • Condition and maintenance history

What Crowden Does Not Accept

  • Brass instruments
  • Woodwind instruments
  • Percussion instruments
  • General sheet music collections (In rare cases, Crowden may accept items with clear historical value, such as annotated scores by notable musicians, rare or out-of-print editions, or materials directly connected to Crowden’s history.)
  • Audio/visual media formats (including VHS tapes, CDs, vinyl records, cassette tapes, DVDs)
