Chamber music requires each participant to concentrate and perform independently, while maintaining an awareness of and sensitivity to the other players in the ensemble. Our faculty of renowned chamber musicians guide advanced students through a deeper understanding of timbre, texture, balance, expression, technique, and interpretation while strengthening students’ listening and communication skills.

Crowden’s chamber music program fosters a community of committed and inspired young musicians whose musical friendships and shared memories last a lifetime.

Rehearsals are scheduled on Tuesday afternoons or Saturday mornings. Ensembles perform in recitals several times over the course of the year. Occasionally, selected ensembles are invited to participate in outside performances, master classes, festivals and competitions.

Students are required to study privately with a teacher of their choice. Audition required.

How to Enroll

To register for this year-long program, complete our online registration form. Crowden will contact registrants to schedule an audition. Mid-year applicants are welcome as space permits.

For auditions, applicants should be prepared to play two pieces in contrasting style. Upon review of auditions, Crowden will contact students regarding acceptance into the programs for which they have applied. Payment is due before the first class meeting.
