Designed for adult musicians who would like to play in a small group with others of comparable experience and ability.

Course Description

10 weeks

Eight rehearsals scheduled by mutual arrangement

*The Adult Chamber Music program is tentatively offered for 2020-21, subject to social distancing and public health guidelines. The fall session of has been cancelled in accordance to City of Berkeley and Alameda County public health guidelines. We continue to monitor the guidelines and will provide updates on future sessions as available.

Fall Session: September 14 to November 22
Winter Session: December 7 to March 7
Spring Session: March 22 to June 6

Over the course of ten weeks, each group meets for eight 90-minute coached rehearsals. The session ends in an informal recital. String, wind and piano players are encouraged to participate. Compatible participants are placed in chamber groups according to instrumentation, playing level, musical interests, and schedule availability. Pre-formed groups are welcome to apply.

Payment of the tuition fee covers the cost of participation in a single chamber group. Participants may register multiple times for the same session, if they wish to participate in multiple groups.

Mandatory recitals on November 22, March 7, and June 6.

How to Enroll

Complete our online registration form one month before the start of the session you are interested in. Crowden will contact registrants to schedule an audition appointment with the Program Director.

Returning members need not audition, but may simply submit the registration and fee two weeks before the start of the session.
