In our music fundamentals classes, students develop a deeper understanding of musical principles while exploring the joys of playing music. The result is a strong foundation for a lifetime of musical enjoyment, learning, and play.

Beginning Piano Class
Crowden offers enriching opportunities for pianists at every level. Very beginners can learn the fundamentals of piano playing and music reading in a supportive group environment to get them started on their musical journeys.
Course Description
In this hands-on introductory class, students learn beginning piano skills and fundamentals of music literacy, including basic notation, rhythms, time signatures, and intervals. Upon successful completion of this one-semester class, students are encouraged to continue with private lessons on an instrument of their choice.
Students are expected to practice piano assignments at home, and therefore need daily access to a piano or a keyboard on a stand with full-sized weighted keys.
Max class size: 4 students.

Fall Session: September 12 to December 12 (no class November 21 for Thanksgiving Break)
Spring Session: January 23 to May 1 (no class April 3 for Spring Break)

Complete our online registration form to Crowden. Registrations are accepted until the class is filled. Crowden will contact registrants to schedule a brief placement interview. Availability is limited and placements are not guaranteed.
