Tuition Assistance

Qualified students should apply to the Crowden School regardless of ability to pay full tuition.

The Crowden School budgets a significant fraction of revenue to tuition assistance. As part of our commitment to musical talent, academic excellence, and distinction in the student body, the actual cost of a Crowden education is substantially more than the tuition we charge—approximately $2,200 to $2,500 more per pupil—which is raised by tax-deductible donations from families, alumni, and friends of the school. We annually solicit contributions to close this gap and support the provision of tuition assistance.

The Crowden School is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

How to Apply for Tuition Assistance

  1. Visit Clarity and click "Sign In" to create your account. The application process typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete and is mobile-friendly.
  2. Begin by providing your household and applicant information. Then, use the dropdown menu in the application to select The Crowden School as the school to which you are applying.
  3. Sign and submit a 4506c form to grant Clarity permission to retrieve your prior year tax returns from the IRS. Your tax return will be automatically uploaded to your Clarity application.
  4. Fill out your financial information, including details about your income, expenses, assets, and debts. You can save your progress and return to it at any time.
  5. Submit and pay the application fee of $60 per household, which covers all the Clarity schools that you are applying to.
  6. If we require any additional financial documents, you will find that information in the "Document Requests" panel on your portal.
