The focus of this vocal workshop—spanning two weekends—is to explore the joy of singing the vast and diverse canon of beautiful masterpieces written for all voice types and genres, ranging from early music to contemporary pieces.
Explore daily breath clinics, ear training, and sight reading sessions. Dedicated independent rehearsal time is provided for participants to grow their vocal range. Singers will engage in a social and collaborative atmosphere, fostering a shared passion for the art of singing.
Each participant will be assigned to two ensembles and grouped into duets, trios, and solos based on their voice type, singing proficiency, musical interests, and schedule availability.
The workshop culminates in an informal concert on its final day, where participants showcase their progress for family and friends.
Participants will have the opportunity to coach early music vocal chamber repertoire with esteemed early music specialists: keyboardist Katherine Heater and gamba player Yosef Feinberg. German Lieder will be coached by distinguished collaborative artist Miles Graber and vocal faculty soprano Ann Moss.
Vocal coaching and private lessons will be assigned with workshop director, soprano Vanessa Langer.
Vocalists of all experience levels are welcome and encouraged to participate, though a basic understanding of music-reading fundamentals is required.
Upon registration, singers will be contacted by Crowden for a placement interview. This helps us to get to know you and your voice and assign you music appropriate to your vocal development and interests.
