Ensemble playing is at the heart of a Crowden music education. Crowden’s Chamber Orchestra gives young string players the experience of following a conductor, exploring high-quality repertoire, and developing the collaborative and interpersonal skills that ensemble playing demands. Students should be comfortable with shifting and vibrato before auditioning. If demand warrants, the group will be divided into two orchestras.

Chamber Orchestra is a natural stepping stone toward Crowden’s more advanced Youth Chamber Music program.

Students must study privately with a teacher of their choice. Audition required for placement. For auditions, prepare two pieces in contrasting styles and a short sight-reading excerpt.

Chamber Orchestra + Private Lessons — 30% Discount: Pair Chamber Orchestra with weekly private lessons (non-Suzuki) and receive 30% off the ensemble class.
