Keyboard Prep Primer | A Harmony Road™ Music Course

Summer 2026 4-Week Session

Ages: 8-11 years (3rd-6th grade) | Class Length: 45 minutes

August 2-23, 2026 | Sundays at 11:00am

Keyboard Prep Primer offers students ages 8 to 11 an inviting introduction to piano and keyboard playing. More than just learning to press the right keys, this course develops musicianship — inner hearing, pitch awareness, note reading, and the joy of making music with others — in a format perfectly suited to this social, curious age group.

Each 45-minute class balances ear training, keyboard geography, sight singing, note reading, and ensemble and solo play. Students develop “inner hearing” through solfege, gain confidence navigating the full range of the keyboard, and begin reading and writing music by connecting sound to symbol. Performing for classmates and collaborating on creative projects makes every session as socially rewarding as it is musically enriching. Parents and carers are active participants throughout — even those with musical backgrounds will find Harmony Road’s multi-sensory solfege approach a fresh and engaging experience.

What to Expect

Ear training and solfege · Keyboard geography and solo play · Note reading and sight singing · Ensemble playing and listening · Creative composition and performance
