Course Description
Private lessons are the foundation of a musical education, providing the concentrated work and individual attention needed to develop a student’s skills and enthusiasm. Double bass lessons at Crowden School focus on foundational technique, rhythmic clarity, and tonal strength, helping students build confidence and control across the instrument.
Crowden’s private lesson faculty members are selected from among the area’s finest musicians and music educators to provide a focused, supportive, and well-rounded musical education for every ability level. See our faculty roster!
New students will be contacted to schedule a placement interview after registration. Students are matched with a teacher based on playing level, learning style, and schedule. Rolling enrollment is available year-round, subject to teacher availability. Availability is limited and placements are not guaranteed. New students will start lessons after August 29, 2026. Weekly lessons are scheduled by mutual arrangement with your teacher, within the Crowden calendar.
Private lesson students are encouraged to participate in Crowden’s ensemble programs, Chamber Orchestra or Youth Chamber Music to reinforce and complement the skills learned in their private lessons. For ages 3 and up, also see Suzuki Strings.
