A medieval historian by training, Marie began her career in the world of editorial content, and led the team responsible for producing various specialty food magazines (such as La Cucina Italiana). These experiences working with a passionate community of readers helped shape her foundation of supporting and communicating culture.

She has continued this holistic approach towards human-centered processes throughout her career, in particular as the Chief People Officer for various high-grown tech companies. Today, she runs her own coaching and consulting practice, and coaches, teaches, and mentors leaders of all types.

She is a Crowden alum (class of 1993), and has continued to be an avid chamber musician since then. She plays the viola da gamba professionally, and served for 14 years on the Board of Directors of the Viola da Gamba Society of America.
