Biography

As an East Bay native, Audrey Mei had her first cello lesson at age seven with Marilyn Blanc, a close friend of Anne Crowden. She began learning chamber music in the early years of the Crowden School. She continued her cello studies with San Francisco pedagogue and composer Grace Vamos, followed by Irene Sharp at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Audrey graduated from New England Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Lawrence Lesser and Colin Carr while also completing a degree in biological psychology at Tufts University. She then received a Fulbright Grant for graduate studies with Finnish cellist Arto Noras at Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland.

Audrey has performed as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles, and with orchestras throughout the United States and Europe.
