Rem Djemilev received his B.A. and M.A. from Moscow Conservatory and performed in the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra and Moscow Chamber Orchestra. He is currently a violist and violinist with the Arlekin String Quartet, California Symphony, and San Francisco Chamber Orchestra.

Rem teaches at the Crowden School, Black Pine Circle school in Berkeley, Glorietta school in Orinda, and Civic Arts Education in Walnut Creek. He also directs and conducts Young People's Chamber Orchestra in Berkeley, Young Performers String Orchestra, and Diablo Regional Youth Orchestra in Walnut Creek.
