Why Support Crowden?
With your assistance, Crowden offers:
- Community Education
Crowden offers a diverse slate of classes, camps, and workshops that are open to the general public. This includes private lessons, group classes, chamber ensembles, and the unique John Adams Young Composers Program that cultivates and inspires young students of composition. Donors provide these programs with necessary support, including financial aid for many of the enrollees.
- The Crowden School
A coeducational day school for grades four to eight, the Crowden School provides a distinguished education with chamber music at its core. Crowden’s donors sustain this program by making up the difference between tuition income and the actual cost of educating each child. Donors also support financial aid, which is offered to over half of Crowden School students.
- Community Outreach
Crowden provides music education to public elementary school students who would not otherwise have it as a part of their curriculum. This program is free to participating schools and depends heavily upon individual and institutional donors. In addition, Crowden provides a free introduction to music education and training to individuals of all ages through its annual Community Music Day and through its participation in public events like Solano Avenue Stroll and Sunday Streets Berkeley.
- Concerts and Events
Crowden contributes to the musical life of its community by offering over 60 free or low-cost public concerts each year, including the popular Sundays @ Four series. Children attend Crowden concerts free of charge.
Your gift ensures that Crowden will continue to provide essential support to the musical life of the community. Gifts of $50 or higher will also qualify you for Crowden’s membership program, which provides specialized benefits for different levels of annual support!
