Each concert features a central theme, short selections, and interactive music geared toward families with young children (infants to 7 year-olds). Have your paper and five different crayons at the ready for this participatory concert!
- Instrument Petting Zoo Demonstrations Curious kids and adults alike can learn all about the instruments of the orchestra, featuring members of the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Berkeley Unified School District, Multicultural Music Fellowship, and Scarlatti Squirrel (Crowden pianist Elizabeth Dorman).
- Class demos with East Bay Music Together Teacher Alice will give a demonstration of Music Together Online and share how to create music at home with the whole family! Alice will lead songs and musical activities geared toward families with babies, toddlers and young kids. Big kids are welcome to join in the fun too! For added fun: Please bring to class a few small plastic containers or Tupperware, and a couple of wooden spoons or percussion sticks per person. Break-out Zoom classes at 10:30am and 11am. Please note that space is limited; first come first served. Zoom links will be shared in the live comments during Community Music Day.
- Instrument making at home Construct your own instruments to make music at home. Suggested supplies: toilet paper rolls, rice or beans, lots of tape, markers or crayons to decorate.
