Biography

Educator and school leader Dan Meyers believes that learning is a social process; through fostering community, he helps students feel important, safe, engaged, and ready to explore ideas and fail freely.

Dan brings 20 years of research-driven educational experience to his role at Crowden as Head of The Crowden School. Over his career, he has held roles as Head of Middle School (Seven Hills School, Walnut Creek), Assistant Head of School/Dean of Faculty (Ethel Walker School, Simsbury, CT), Associate Head of School for Academics (Mercy High School), AP United States History teacher (Mercy HS), and Speech & Debate Director (Presentation HS, The Meadows School, Clovis West HS). He has a B.A. in History from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Santa Clara University.

Away from school, Dan lives with his wife Andrea and children Abe and Jude, both musically-inclined kids who helped first bring Dan to Crowden at one of our Community Music Days. In his spare time, Dan enjoys devouring new music, all things baseball (go Giants!), trail running/hiking/backpacking, cooking with his family, and chiming in with the kid-created or family-sung music that fills his house at all times.
