Playing together changes everything. Crowden's Chamber Orchestra instills in young string players the skills, repertoire, and joy of making music as one. In the Chamber Orchestra, students learn to follow a conductor and engage with a variety of high quality repertoire.

Composition lessons at Crowden School develop each student’s musical voice through guided exploration of structure, harmony, and form, helping students translate ideas into original work with clarity and intention.

Double bass lessons at Crowden School focus on foundational technique, rhythmic clarity, and tonal strength, helping students build confidence and control across the instrument.

Music Is Calling — Say Hello! A lively introduction to music for three and four-year-olds, blending movement, singing, percussion, and keyboard play through the Harmony Road Music Program.

The John Adams Young Composers Program was founded in honor of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Adams — a longtime Crowden collaborator — on the occasion of his 60th birthday. With a faculty of dedicated professional composers, a rich network of performing musicians and ensembles, and an alumni roster that speaks for itself, the program offers an unmatched launching pad for young artists ready for expert individual guidance and real-world experience.

A creative workshop for young composers of all levels, students will compose a suite of miniatures for voice and piano. Our accomplished faculty and guest artists provide guidance and feedback as participants refine their work. The camp culminates in a public performance of student works by professional musicians.

An introduction to piano and keyboard for ages 8–11, combining ear training, solfege, note reading, and ensemble play through the certified Harmony Road Music Program. No music experience required!

Where little ones fall in love with music. Children discover musical building blocks and develop elements of collaborative music making in a delightful, interactive setting.
